What do you think about using a 30-30 for Black bear in the N. Cascades?

ShooterMcgee asked: I have a 30-30 Marlin and a Tikka T3 .308 (with a scope that is overkill-8-32×44 BSA Platnium. Not sure if I should pack in my 30-30 for Black bear, or skip the .308 completely. My biggest concern is a consistant over-the-counter ammo, and which grain would you use?
