I've got a Savage 17, put a bsa scope on it 6-18x40, terrible scope, blurs big time. Need a good cheap one with good zoom. have a great little tasco on my 22, real cheap, but clear. not enough zoom though. need to be a good one for about 150.

ok little extra, I do need a scope with higher zoom, over nine, what we are hunting are very hard to see and you need very precise shots, especially with the price of 17 ammo. I don't feel like throwing away a quarter every time i miss.

I'm a little suprised to hear that you don't like your BSA Sweet 17 scope. I've got the 6X24 model as well and it's pretty clear. Don't get me wrong, it's no Leupold; but it's clear enough for me to tag the 10 ring at 100 yards with good groups. A couple of squirrels would also argue that it works pretty well around 100 yards as they never knew what hit them.
You might want to look at the scopes by Mueller as I think they may offer the most underrated scope value on the market today. I have one of their 8.5X25 Tactical models and it comes very close to competing with a few of my Leupold models at a fraction of the price.
