Alright, I’m game.
In the backpack: fishing line and small hook kit, matches(waxed heads) in waterproof case, spare cloths, leather work gloves, survival saw, small first aid kit, pancho, mess kit, can of beans, jerky, dried fruit, Flask of Irish whiskey, some zip ties and a box of ammo.(everything in the pack is a multi task item)
On the pack: rope, wool blanket, hunting knife, compass, canteen, P-38 can opener, and a small camp hatchet.
Firearm of choice, 30/30 lever Marlin, no scope needed.

I usually stick to more technical questions, but I couldn’t resist this one. Too fun.
I’d take my Australian Enfield. With Open Sights, it needs little maintenance, and I can ethically kill a deer at up to about 150 yards (I’d chance it out to 300 if I needed it for survival). I would take about 200 rounds (that’s 6 rounds a day, more than enough for survival hunting and defense).
Packing: 1) a hand chain saw (it’s just a cutting chain with handles).
2) Magnesium block for starting fires (use knife to flake it, then spark and it burns very very hot) and a magnifying glass as backup.
3) Large hunting knife for skinning, dressing, etc.
4) Whetstone to sharpen it
5) Sleeping bag
6) Rolled up Hammock (I like to sleep off the ground: I **** bugs)
7) Fishing line and hooks ( a few lures maybe)
8)A canteen and about 10 MREs to feed me for the first day or so and for when hunting/fishing aren’t doing well.
9) Compass to navigate
10) a notebook with a topo map if available, mechanical pencil, and paper for notes.
11) One steel plate, 10 inches around for cooking.
That should all fit in my rucksack. I’ve done worse.
The idea is I can set up camp near the water, and sleep in my hammock in a sleeping bag. A fire to cook and keep warm. I can mark spots on my map (or draw my own) where I find game, and take notes on such things. I can saw tree limbs to make everything from fishing poles to support beams for a mud grill. Actually, this sounds like a great idea. If I don’t respond to any questions for a month, you’ll know why (and what I’m bringing with me).
