For my next rifle, I plan on getting a Tikka T3 in .308 win. in stainless on a synthetic stock and then top it off with a Burris Fullfield II scope with the ballistic reticle. I've heard alot of good things about Tikka and how they are a sister to the expensive Sako brand. Anyone have any input on my general idea for a new rifle? Thanks

I have a Tikka T3 Tactical in .308 and a T3 Hunter in .338. Both are fitted with a Nikkon 20×40x60 Titanium series scope. The .308 will group 5 shots in 3 in at 800 yards using M118 Military spec ammo. The .338 I have only ranged out to 300 yards but is just as effective. ANY Tikka is Worth its weight in gold in my oppinion

Tikka and Sako are made by the same company thats how they are sistered Baretta is one of the finest firearm manufacturers around HANDS DOWN
    from the Baretta home page…..
For over eighty years, Sako Ltd. of Finland has impressed the world with the quality of their bolt-action rifles. And the excellence of their product also impressed us at Beretta – to the point that, in 2000, we decided to become the sole importer of Sako and Tikka rifles in the United States. Sako Ltd. shares our passion for quality and our commitment to offering shooter the best that technology can offer. Without compromise.

Both brands produced by Sako Ltd. (Sako and Tikka) are truly the finest production rifles available to the American shooter. Their match-grade barrel, adjustable trigger, silky-smooth bolt and distinctive styling are only a few of the attributes that have made Sako and Tikka household names in the USA. Most importantly, these rifles only leave the Finland factory after passing a rigorous 1-inch 100-yard test, making them an industry benchmark for out-of-the-box accuracy.

I would get Sako over Tikka Because the magazine and trigger guard on the tikka arnt strong enough they are made out of plastic. Tikka have done this to make the guns lighter i would look at the Sako 85 synthetic stainless.

nice rifle and good midrange scope…
