Nikon's or Leupold is what you want to buy, however I have a $60.00 Tasco on my 30-06 with no problems whatsoever.*

I've had good luck with Nikon. I would stay away from anything sold at the typical Walmart for firearms except Winchester AA shotgun shells, and other ammo not on the bottom rung. Walmart is no friend to the outdoors-man anymore. If you need a cheap place to buy better-than Walmart sporting goods, go to Academy. Better yet, spend a little extra and keep your local firearms dealer in business.

pee on Walmart. It is because of their pricing policy that many manufacturers are forced to utilize the Chinese for labor. People who shop there don't seem to realize that they are shopping themselves out of a job, or don't care about this country.

Nikon is your best bet at $150, even comes with a lifetime warranty. I sell the heck out of those things.

nikon is the best for the money. i have four of them including a 150 dollar prostaff 3-9x40. ive had the prostaff for 3 years on a ruger mini 30 7.62x39. it would hold up to 30-06 or 300 mag all day long. it also has a lifetime warranty. the leupold your talking about is the rifleman series i believe. it doesnt have a lifetime warranty and has 1/2 click ajustments at 100 yards insead of 1/4 like most scopes. it also doesnt get as good light transmission. if you want a good scope under 400 dollars go with a nikon you wont be dissapointed. leupold and burris make great scopes too you just have to spend alot more to get a quality one. their cheaper models just dont match the quality. i have some leupold friends who are now sold on nikon after problems with thier vari x 1 and 2s. i would go with burris mounts and rings they are top quality. check out reviews at midway usa website. i also have nikon buckmasters 4.5-14x40 mildot on my 270 wsm. 2.5-8x28 eer on my tc encore 7mm-08 both were under 300 bucks and have lifetime warranties.
